Podcast Description:

Follow the adventures of Ace Stone, Marketing Detective as she bamboozles bad guys and detects dastardly deeds in the marketing industry. In “The Case of the Missing Content,” marketing detective Ace Stone and her assistant Olympia Werke are hired by influencer Sienna Wonderly to find her “missing content.” As the mystery unfolds, it turns out that Sienna isn’t the only person searching for the Missing Content — Ace’s dastardly foe, Rex Hackshaw, has returned from the dead and is hot on the trail of the Missing Content with his henchmen. They say anyone with this content can turn a launch into gold, and these shady marketers are willing to do just about anything to get their hands on it…

About the Podcast:

Ace Stone, Marketing Detective is a fully scripted and produced fictional story about crack marketing detective Ace Stone. In this season, Ace and her assistant Olympia Werke are hired by influencer Sienna Wonderly to find her “missing content.” As the mystery unfolds, it turns out that Sienna isn’t the only person searching for the content — Ace’s dastardly foe, Rex Hackshaw, and a cast of other misfit characters also want to get their hands on it.

The story is a fun, tongue-in-cheek look at content marketing, shady marketers, and suspicious marketing techniques. Each episode is “sponsored” by a copywriting technique or tool. Inspired by Dick TracyThe Maltese Falcon, and the creator’s own experiences in the online marketing industry, Ace Stone, Marketing Detective is a fun new take on a business podcast that proves that business and marketing can be playful and fun.

Writer and producer, Lacy Boggs, believes that content marketing should be thought-provoking, innovative, and fun. She dreamed up the idea for a radio play-style podcast because it fit with the company’s noir-inspired detective agency branding. After listening to a few episodes of Dick Tracy for inspiration, she started writing and Ace Stone was born.

Ace Stone, Marketing Detective and the Case of the Missing Content was produced by The Content Direction Agency in cooperation with the NextWave Radio Network.

Interview Topics:

  • Creating a Fiction Podcast for a Real Business
Lacy (and her director, Joe Cucinotti if you like) can speak to the creative process and project management process of creating a fiction podcast from idea to finished project, including: how she came up with the idea, writing the scripts, hiring the director, casting the characters, recording the episodes, finding an editor, and launching the podcast.
  • Think Sideways: How to Stand Out in a Crowded Content Feed
The key to getting your content to stand out for your small business isn’t about creating more content, it’s about creating something different. Content that gets noticed (instead of lost in the scroll) is bold, daring, innovative, and unusual. Lacy believes that every business can find a creative angle for their content that will help them stand out and get noticed by potential customers.
  • The Power of Top of Mind Marketing
How does a fictional radio show like Ace Stone work to market Lacy’s business? It’s called top of mind marketing, and it’s about ensuring that your business is the first one people think of in your industry. By creating a fun, entertaining, compelling podcast — with “ads” included that plug her business, Lacy is building relationships and goodwill with listeners who might be potential customers.
